I wonder

where we’d be now

if I hadn’t noticed you

sitting there that day

you were staring at nothing

as you often do

Do you remember the moment

the very instant we fell in love?

We didn’t seek it

we lived in oblivion

It started as a flicker

didn’t it?

A sideways glance

a skipped heart beat

I had a sense of knowing you

and when our thoughts met

a spark flew

How careless we were

to set fire to our hearts
